ok, i found it - i have to use the same name attribute.
swfmill recognizes a bold font on its own and marks it as bold.
<font id="NimbusSanLot" name="NimbusSanLot"
import="c:/windows/fonts/NimbusSanLOT-Reg.otf"
<font id="NimbusSanLot" name="NimbusSanLot"
import="c:/windows/fonts/NimbusSanLOT-Bold.otf"
This seems to work like a charm.
