These are not languages but scripts. Unicode ranges are available at
unicode.org, too (http://unicode.org/charts), but these are mostly
based on scripts rather than languages. Sometimes a language and a
script can be equal from the viewpoint of character sets (Greek, Thai,
Japanese, etc.), but it is quite rare. I think Ralf was talking about
a little bit different thing. E.g. latin script is used for several
languages and each language has its own special characters beside the
basic latin alphabet and these are differing from that of other
languages. E.g. Hungarian has nine additional letters (18 characters
including small and capital ones). These special characters are
covered by two Unicode ranges beside Basic Latin: Latin-1 and Latin
Extended A, which consist of 644 glyphs instead of the required 18.
And the situation is similar for other languages and even other
scripts, too (Cyrillyc, Arabic, etc). So, Ralf's initiation is to
collect the minimal character set for languages, and use these sets
for more economic font embedding, both with swfmill and Flash IDE (by
extending UnicodeTable.xml mentioned by Rostislav in the case of
latter one). Personally I already extended my UnicodeTable.xml with
the range of Hungarian characters, but it would be nice to include
subsets for other languages too, which I'm not so familiar with.

I also have to mention that extending UnicodeTable.xml has a small
disadvantage: if a fla using modified UnicodeTable.xml is opened in a
Flash IDE with the original or at least different UnicodeTable.xml,
then the missing character ranges selected in the embedding list, are
disappearing. So, if somebody transfers a fla to another computer,
UnicodeTable.xml should be transferred, too.
