Without doubt it makes the Translate2DDragger (and most likely others) easier to use, I just decide what geometry I want to use when I need to (no subclassing required)... However, although there would be not break other draggers, having an incomplete interface for some draggers is not desirable. So I agree, to do the change 100% correctly would require analysis of every draggers behaviour, as this change is likely to need further refinement to work across the board.
