Robert,

I vote for changing the default to be 64-bit centric.  Eventually some 
QuickTime items (movie) can be shifted to use the QuickTime Kit api, which uses 
objC and supports 64-bit.  I build fat binaries (i386 and x86_64), so a 
multi-arch solution is important to me.
