Hi,

You're right, "osg::Object::setUserValue()" and "osg::Object::getUserValue()"  
seems to do the job in a really efficient way...

If I've seen that a few month ago, I've certainly been able to save some coding 
time by using it instead of node "descriptions" !

This is probably the best way to store mapped user data on an object, but do 
you know if these data are serialized using osgb/osgx/osgt formats ?
