Thanks.  I only compled about 2/3rds of my planned work on shader
composition before I got pulled away onto other work.  The bit of the
jigsaw that I haven't yet implemented is the fixed function fallback
which would allow us to generate shaders on OpenGL-ES 2.0 and GL 3.x
for the fixed function pipeline and make it possible to customize the
function function behavior.

The later really is the holy grail of shader composition, getting it
to all work seamlessly is a pretty serious challenge design wise and
will require me to completely focus on the topic for a few weeks
without distraction.  Alas there isn't that many times when I can
squish such a block in - it will have to be after OSG-3.2 now.
