I don't think an external dependency is required or appropriate. The OSG is mature product, backwards compatibility is crucial, especially on elements that are so widely used such as Vec and Matrix classes. If there are specific errors in our current maths classes/functions then we need to address these, but otherwise I think where we are at right now is sufficient for the needs for the bulk of OSG users.
