Hi J-S, On screen stats adds extra compute and GPU load to the rendering of the frame, so one would expect it reduce rather than enhance frame rate. The fact that you have an instance where the reverse happens suggest something odd happening with the OpenGL driver - something like is given the boot when the OpenGL data that the OSG send changes slightly. Try other things to jolt the driver by toggle texturing or lighting to see what happens.
