It could already do both of these right now quite easily. :)

My idea is that osgWidget will inherit the spirit of OSG and provide
mostly a solid, low-level wrapper over basic GUI programming things. I
will provide more of the "advanced" Widget types in Lua/Python, since I
really think is where complicated UI code belongs once the framework is
laid.
