Just to offer an alternative setup... We have OSG running a system of 6 screens representing a single view. The solution we chose was to use a single 8800 GTX and two of the matrox triple-head-to-go devices. Nvidia's twinview lets us treat it as one big screen of resolution 3840x2048, which makes for a very simple setup in OSG. By adding another card you could easily get the number of screens you require.
