In my application I know that the points are an almost perfect match - I just need to snap two models together based on key points.
ICP is good for fitting surfaces together (although there are a bunch of other relaxation type algorithms that work). I was mainly looking for something that could be implemented fairly simply rather than having to include the whole of CGAL or LAPACK. Martin ps.
