I don't have a schedule for OSG-2.10 yet. My current focus is getting
VPB-1.0 completed, once that is out I'll turn my attention to
OSG-2.10.

In terms of features in 2.10, the ffmpeg plugin has great promise but
isn't complete yet, and I'd like to get that working as well as the
quicktime + xine plugins for 2.10 so we can contemplate deprecating
these. Other features that will make it into 2.10 will depend upon
the what the community will bring forward.

Personally I would recommend that users move to each stable point
releases as they come out, rather than skip ones as this will minimize
the chances of API changes in the OSG breaking builds. So in this
instance 2.8.1 has to be the one to go for. Going from 2.6.1 to 2.8.1
should be pretty painless, little more than a recompile of the OSG and
the 3rd party application.

Wow SIGGRAPH only 2 months away... who stole Spring?!?

Getting 2.10 out the door in time for SIGGRAPH should be doable, and
is certainly a good goal to aim for. Perhaps aim for VPB-1.0 mid
June, OSG-2.10 mid July.

Robert.
