You have the range (cam pos - bs center) and the bs radius, so atan would give half the fov needed to fit the bs. You'll have to adjust horiz/vert fov depending on your window aspect.

Perhaps the osgShadow::MinimalShadowMap class does this kind of frustum calculation to minimize the fov of the camera that collects the shadowmap?
