Wow, the first time we see that error!. If you are in a XP 32-bit, and you have installed a VS8 for 32-bit, that's really amazing. I only could guess that you opened the wrong Visual-Studio command line, so the environment is not correctly configured. You can download binaries and use it in your project. JNI libraries are used from java, and osgvp jar files are also deployed inside the binaries package.. so you only need to configure your classpath pointing to that jars, and your PATH(windows) or LD_LIBRARY_PATH(linux) pointing to the native binaries, I think this will work for you.
