Some people leading OSS library projects take the time to explain why a 
particular thing doesn't work, avoid lecturing people posting to forums and 
generally transform constructive criticism - and to some extent here, offer to 
help on testing - into an opportunity to develop their project so that it can 
reach the next level, particularly when stability is a concern.
Anyway this discussion probably lasted long enough. At least the end of it 
reveals a bit more about who's behind OSG - pardon me, "the" OSG - and starts 
to answer some of my questions regarding whether I want or not help solve 
issues I might find. As for the mess you were talking about, the few lines of 
superflous code I had in the repro were nothing compared to the mess you were 
trying - and eventually managed - to put in this discussion.
That said let me wish you a good end of week end.
