Hi,

we're recognizing a problem concerning the memory requirement of Collada files
after export out of OSG. We're using OSG Version 2.8.2 and the Collada-DOM
(OSG-Plugin) Version 2.2.
I'll try to explain our problem:
If we import an existing collada (*.dae) file into the OSG environment and
re-export it directly, a file of completely other file size will be created.
This behavior is extreme if the imported file is a large one (2274 KB). After
the export, the file size grows up to 131186KB which is 50 times bigger that
the original. If we reimport the the exported Collada file, it looks the same
as the original one, but remember, needs 50 times more disk space.
This is a problem for us especially when handling complex scenes consisting of
several of these Collada files which are integrated into one new scene and
re-exported as one entire Collada file.
Does anyone know how to avoid or change this?

Thank you!

Cheers,
Miriam
