I have wondered if it wouldn't be better to go with such a route - just utlize a third party system. I haven't had much expereince with google groups. Just had a look and of course we have "OpenSceneGraph Users" group already that is mirroring the OSG mailing list ;-) The interface to googlegroups like better than the last time I looked at it. Perhaps we could simply experiement with getting forums users to subscribe to "OpenSceneGraph Users" google group and see how things go, this would be an immediate workaround. One issue I would see is how would posts from the googlegroup get posted to the osg-users mailing list as things stand. I don't know what the situation will be with catching spam/phishing etc and the need for moderators.
