Someone recommeneded SuSE when I made the jump because it was more Windows-like in use... Ok... maybe that isn't a good thing ,but it made the transition a little easier. I would recommend it. I did have some minor problems installing nvidia drivers under SuSE 10.0 though. I also use Mandrake 10.1. Of all the distros I have tried, I like these two the best.

Ok, I'm going to take the plunge and replace the OS on my home computer. My first question is, which Linux should I install? It has been 10 years since I've had much to do with any of the Unixes (IRIX and Solaris).

One of the guys at my office likes Mandrake (Mandriva?)... I've seen the name Ubuntu bandied about... Then there is Suse and Fedora... Not to forget OpenBSD. (or is it FreeBSD?) And what is a Debian, anyway?

What do you folks like for OSG development, and why?

Thanks!
