I don't recall this, but I don't always spot everything that rushes by :) Check the archives, this isn't really apporpriate for thread on the 1.1 release.

I digged more and found that the following paper "Designing a PC game engine" explains briefly the Netimmerse engine: http://www.funet.fi/~kouhia/00637270.pdf The main point seems to be the use of a scenegraph. The NIF format contains parts of the scenegraph and thus should be more or less easy to convert to OSG. David Eberly has also published the book "3D Game Engine Design" which described the Netimmerse engine. Greatly expanded second edition is coming out soon.
In an open source world its generally the first one with the itch that scratches it... so if you think its a good ideal, but nobody has curently got the itch, then pick up the editor and start coding, you never know others might join in once you've got going.
