Here are the latest test results:

1) OSG 1.2 with lib3ds code from osg1.0 still has the bug so modifications in lib3ds are probably not the cause. Can others running a windows platform validate this test? What I did was to replaces files in the lib3ds plug-in folder of an OSG 1.2 install with lib3ds files from OSG 1.0 sources, then rebuilt the OSG1.2 sources. The two files that get update in this process are osgdb_3ds.dll and osgdb_3dsd.dll.

2) osgNav from VRJuggler sample app does have the problem so we can use it to send a code sample to nvidia

3) the OSG native file format as well as OpenFlight format load fine with osgNav. 3DS files cause the problem to show up.

Let me know what we could look at in the osgUtil module or other things you can think of testing, based on the observations highlighted in the previous posts.
