I mean that the OSG window still has a border on it.  I believe we have the
menu bars thing figured out.

Looks like I had to modify the xorg.conf file to get cloning views to work
instead of saving the settings for the user.

What do you mean here, do you mean the OSG window still has a border on it,
do you mean that the desktop menu bars are still visible?

The will probably be the easist solution.  You can actually run X11 without
any window manager if you wish.

Not sure about nvidia-settings, have only dabbled with it a little.
Most of the time I've just edited the /etc/X11/xorg.conf by hand.
