W.r.t binaries I am thinking that we needn't supply the example
programs with the binaries, as the examples are their many as source
code examples, something that end users will compile if they want
them. With the range of dependencies that the new viewer examples
introduce would also complicate the inclusion of examples too.

Thoughts?

Hi,

I differ on this one. I think that binaries are mostly used by people new to osg who want to see what it does. When I started to investigate which graphics library to use for my application, it was really very good to have the examples together with the library in a nice installer. When I started to do real work with the osg I compiled it myself anyway (as I used to use mingw, and there are no binaries), and when you get used to it, it´s no big deal to build it. But for people who use the binaries the examples are important.

Regards,

Andreas
