Beslan terrorists used PCP drugs for strength during school attack Russian officials said last week that the Chechen terrorists that attacked a school in Beslan, southern Russia, used the illegal drug PCP to strengthen themselves, Itar-Tass reported. A police expert told the news agency that phencyclidine, commonly known as "angel dust" or PCP - a drug banned in Russia and elsewhere was found in the remains of the terrorists. "This banned substance noticeably increases the human body's stamina and psychological activity and also works as a pain killer. The one who has taken a dose of phencyclidine is capable of offering resistance to three and even four men," said analyst Col. Boris Kalachev. "It is very likely that phencyclidine had been manufactured with the use of Western technologies for the militants who attacked Beslan at an undercover laboratory somewhere in the North Caucasus region," he said. Russian Federation Council Deputy Speaker Alexander Torshin, who is heading a special inquiry into the terrorist attack, stated that the terrorists used special drugs. Eyewitnesses reported that the terrorists showed no signs of pain or fatigue during the hostage siege last month that ended up killing 330 people, including 172 schoolchildren. A Russian law enforcement official in the North Caucasus said that the concentration of drugs found in the bodies of some of the terrorists exceeded the lethal dose. ------------------------ Yahoo!
