Iranian Party Delegation Wraps up Visit to Syria
Friday, January 26, 2007 - 10:10 PM

DAMASCUS, (SANA) _ A delegation representing the Central Council of the
Iranian House of Parties headed by Chairman of the Council Ayatollah
Sayyed Hussein Mussavi-Tabrizi left Damascus on Friday wrapping up a
5-day visit to Syria.

At the end of the visit both sides issued a joint statement in which
they stressed the deep-rooted Syrian-Iranian relations, underlining
necessity of deepening these relations and upgrading them to meet the
two friendly countries' aspirations and serve the joint interests of the
two Arab and Islamic countries.

Both parties voiced Syria and Iran's support to steadfastness of the
national resistance of the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples in addition
to steadfastness of the Syrian citizens in the occupied Syrian Golan in
the face of the Israeli occupation.

They also expressed their country's standing by the people of Iraq to
complete the political process as to end the occupation and secure the
integrity of the country in addition to achieve the national
reconciliation for building the future of Iraq without any foreign
interference.

The statement indicated Iran's natural right to possess the nuclear
energy for peaceful means, pointing out to the US double standard policy
that supports Israel.

The statement hailed Syria's national method that resists the aggressive
plots and defends rights and legitimate interests of the Arab and
Islamic nations.
