Nehmeh was hired by fellow Wayne County (Detroit) Jail inmate Timothy O'Reilly to murder witnesses planning to testify at O'Reilly's criminal trial for a fatal armed car robbery. Mr. Nehmeh is <http://www.state.mi.us/mdoc/asp/otis2profile.asp?mdocNumber=228542> serving multiple sentences for several different instances of criminal sexual conduct with children and illegal delivery/manufacture of cocaine. He committed criminal sexual conduct in 1992, twice in 2004, and twice in 2007. He <http://www.clickondetroit.com/news/14536247/detail.html> had sex with a 14-year-old girl and sodomized a 10-year-old. He snuck in and out of the Canadian/U.S. border before <http://www.sootoday.com/content/news/full_story.asp?StoryNumber=28702> being caught re-entering the U.S. again in 2007. <http://www.freep.com/article/20100721/NEWS06/7210352/1001/News/Prisoner-I-w as-offered-100000-to-kill-witnesses> Check this out: Nehmeh said he met O'Reilly at the Wayne County Jail in late 2007 after O'Reilly had been indicted in the robbery. Embarrassed to tell O'Reilly that he was there on child molestation charges - he is serving an eight- to 15-year state prison sentence - Nehmeh said he told O'Reilly he was accused of assassinating people for Hizballah, which the U.S. government had designated as a terrorist group. I have no doubt, by the way, that this guy supports Hezbollah and probably fantasizes that he was a Hezbollah terrorist. And, FYI, being a Hezbollah terrorist and a child molester aren't exactly mutually exclusive vocations. Nehmeh, who stands 5 feet, 5 inches tall, said he also was hoping to strike up a friendship with the 6-foot-5 O'Reilly in hopes O'Reilly would help protect him from other prisoners. He said O'Reilly offered him $80,000 to kill Khayyam Wilson, 36, and Henry Matthews, 38, both of Detroit, who also were charged in the robbery but turned government witnesses. Nehmeh said O'Reilly offered an additional $20,000 to kill Barron Nix-Bey, 41, of Detroit, a former O'Reilly cell mate who at the behest of the FBI secretly recorded a conversation in which O'Reilly admitted his role in the Dearborn robbery and another armored car heist in Detroit in 2003 in which a guard was wounded. . . . Asked whether O'Reilly was a puppy dog, as O'Reilly's lawyer Richard Kammen described him in opening statements last week, Nehmeh said: "Absolutely not true. . He was big, intimidating. . Nobody pushed him around. . That's why I took to him." Kammen spent the afternoon hammering away at Nehmeh by pointing out inconsistencies in his account, questioning his motives for going to the FBI and suggesting that he preyed on O'Reilly just as he had done with the children he molested: by "convincing the clueless and the gullible that you could do the impossible."
