My experience has been similar to Harrison's and Larry's.  I also think
there is some real benefit to the incidental conversations that occur at the
main computer bank.  One of the neatest OST stories related by the VP of our
organization was the time he was typing in his discussion summary and
engaged in a discussion with a guy from housekeeping - he learned all sorts
of inside stuff that he otherwise never would have known.  He loved it
because the housekeeper had no idea who he was - so there was no "editing"
whatsoever.  Prior to that point, he'd felt that his presence coloured the
conversation in the groups he'd joined.  I think of the computer bank as a
"butterfly" opportunity.
