Why not spend your energy on creating something you want rather than
asking Michael to give over something he created?
Why not taking him up on his willingness to list whatever you come up
with? I got the sense that he is willing to do whatever to help
boost the rankings of whatever new is created.
why not go for it?
Am I missing something here?

Michael, are you willing to relinquish your ownerhsip of
openspaceworld.org? I think that would be best for the worldwide
OS community. A subdomain of your personal website is not, in my
opinion, open.
Thanks, Kaliya, for asking others to voice their possibly negative
experiences with Michael Herman. For myself, I am feeling
resentful of the suppression taking place in this discussion. I
resent suggestions to use non-violent communication when it is
used, as it seems to be here, to inhibit expression.
Is anyone on this list familiar with the work of Humberto
Maturana? He posits that much of what is 'wrong' with human
culture is we suppress what 'is' and pressure others to only
disclose what fits the existing paradigms. As long as folks post
lovey-dovey calls for only 'positive' expression, negativity is not
allowed into the light. There is no sunlight without shadow and,
still speaking only for myself, it takes a lot of love -- in this
instance my love for the practice of OS -- to speak my truth, even
when it is negative.
I read a lot of invitation in this list for OS but only 'openness'
for the positive.
I believe there is a shadow element here that some are pressuring
the rest of us to suppress. We can go on suppressing. Yes indeed we
can. In OS, where I live, it is often very loving, positive,
affirmative, appreciative and nonviolent to voice what I see in the
dark.

kaliya, did you see my offer to host things in subdomain(s) at
openspaceworld.org? have you definitely decided that it's better
to host elsewhere? (knowing so would help me think about the
future of osw) ...and if that's the case, would creating subdomains
at osw that simply pointed to your separate site(s) confer any
google-ranking benefits to the new sites? if so, i should look at
creating those sorts of subdomain pointers for other sites already
existing, like worldmap and scape and .com. is there anything
other than linking that could be done from osw that would support
yours and other separate site(s)?

If the new list of Kaliya is about continuing this conversation and
calling upon somebody who is not even there, I can just say: good
luck. I won't be there.
The list I put up at the request of people who did not want to hear
about how we could collaboratively organize our online presence
together on this list is focused on the things I articulated that
it was for.
We are currently are looking at wiki choices - MediaWiki, MindTouch
Wiki, Wagn and choosing which one would be good for the community.
We will then choose where /how to host it. Likely just on the
MindTouch service - this is "ok" because it is open source and we
can if want download it and move off of their hosting service. It
is also a wysiwig editing.
There is a whole thread about the blog and blog aggregator
exploring options in that realm.
Next we will have to figure out which domain name goes with what
and how we weave it all together.
Good thing about MindTouch is that it has CSS and lots of ability
to edit.
We will then consider what the front page should look like - what
are the most important elements? how do we hilghlight them.
How do we have a list of practitioners? Is that what people want?
How will we collectively manage it? What will the different rolls
be? How long will people commit to participating in those rolls?
Who has power to post to front page - how do we decide that?
feel free to join in.
We are work focused.

Love rays,
Tree Fitzpatrick (check out my new address)
. . . the great and incalculable grace of love, which says, with
Augustine, "I want you to be," without being able to give any
particular reason for such supreme and unsurpassable affirmation.
