if the repository is tagged by the release version number.

The save way is to download the APK installation file of your osmand
version, open it as ZIP file and extract the file from there.

I moved it to /storage/7AF0-1018/Android/data/net.osmand.plus/files/routing.xml
I guess it now does read the file.
Because now osmand+ keeps crashing whenever I start it.
I'll try later on with an unmodified routing.xml
