The Swedish version of the spoken instructions during navigation have some problems. Some of them are simply amusing (in some but not all situations "roundabout" is pronounced like "roundabouto" with an "o" in the end), and some of the time it is actually misleading (when following one road to get to another, it sounds as you already are *on* the road you are going *to*). As fixing this might hard for a non-Swede, I thought I'd suggest a fix rather than just send a bug report. I'm used to translation of GNU and other free software, so I didn't expect this to be particularly hard.
But I have problems understanding how the translation works. I took a look at https://hosted.weblate.org/ but I couldn't find specific sentences in there. I'm not sure if that is because those messages are not the ones used for spoken instructions, or if I somehow misunderstand the interface. I haven't used *weblate* in particular as a translation tool previously. In the *OsmAnd-resources* repository I found some Swedish translations in voice/sv. The second problem could *possibly* depend on the translation of "to" or perhaps "onto". Both are translated to "på", just as "on" is. That looks a bit strange, but prepositions are hard when translating. It would depend on exactly how these words are used. But I haven't managed to figure out where in the code these phrases are used; I can't find the use in any of the probable candidates under https://github.com/osmandapp The code under OsmAnd-resources/voice/sv is also a bit confusing to me. There are four separate files with the connection of "to"-"på" in the directory. In addition, in the subdirectory voice there is an OGG file to.ogg which also says "på" in Swedish. I thought it was the standard robot voice in Android that spoke the messages, but maybe that isn't the full story? If I would find that the translation of "to" is indeed wrong, which file or files should I change if I were to make a pull request? If the OGG file is among them, how do I create one with the same voice as the other OGG files? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Osmand" group.
