So I created 19 groups of tracks now that are relevant to me. Since I can't see the map when they are displayed, I hide them. Now when I want to display them, I have to select every group one by one. That is 22 clicks where it was two with favorites. I'd rather have the app become unresponsive on the occasional changes than having to go through this process multiple times a day.
