There has been no response from "mission control". Meanwhile it seems that that the only thing which triggers the freeze-then-crash is zooming or sliding the map. Other functions seem OK, e.g. if I avoid moving the map, I can enter the menu and use it as normal, to look at favourites, My Places, etc. and presumably other things. Suggestions please. I'm desperate to get this resolved. Will unintstall/re-install be the only solution, and if so what precautions should be taken, and what data will be lost?
