Hi Stefanie,

I also puzzled about osmosis setup, on Ubuntu and it did turn out to be
easier than I had expected.  I admire you for asking for help.

On the Ubuntu setup my problem was reading several different "help" web
pages and following a bit from each, thus my install was not consistent.

I think the thought to share with the developers is to help new osmosis
folk know which set of install notes is most current.  For instance, at
some point I paused to learn how to use ant.. Not sure that is applicable
for our needs (tag transform)

When I get caught up on other tasks I'm game to read over the
new/current/best Osmosis install notes.
