LOL no, I'm afraid that I have no such luck. Though, I wish there was someone with the money & goodwill to purchase all of the Be Inc. assets from Access & restart Be Inc. Or even just opensource BeOS & improve it.
I do have a solo side project that I'm working on & OSS will be very important for that in the future. I'm writing what I think is the successor of OS/2. It'll be portable, fast, & it should be binary compatible with 'most' OS/2 warp 4 programs. Just the ones that follow the API's & don't deal with drivers or the kernel directly. It will also have a win32 subsystem, full 32-bit system with the capability of running 16-bit programs. Though, it'll have a registry that's more similar to Windows' registry, not like the one that OS/2 already has. So, the old-school .ini files are out. Perhaps I'll have the registry subsystem autogenerate .ini files for emulation of win16, dos, & OS/2 16-bit. There will also be a posix layer. But this is at my own pace, as I make time. This is a backburner project. -Dee Sharpe -----Original Message----- From: François Revol <re...@free.fr> To: Discussion mailing list for developers of OSS <oss-devel@mailman.opensound.com> Sent: Sat, 21 Feb 2009 22:21:40 +0100 CET Subject: Re: [oss-devel] Fwd: Porting to other OS's > > No, nothing to do with netscape.net, this is an email address that > I've > had for 12yrs. Don't tell me you work at ACCESS... oh or Palm ?? :p Anyway. I still plan on looking at porting OSS to ReactOS or AROS someday but I'm way too busy atm. I know there are some other people interested in those ports, but they seem busy too. I think Hannu wanted to port to OSX also...
