Apologies dan. # ps aux | greo ossec ossecm is running the /var/ossec/bin/ossec-maild and ossec-csyslogd processes, so I changed the SMTP tag back to my ossec-server name, (local host). Jon, My current senior sys admin is not in today. Let me clarify, I am SSH'ing into the ossec-server from my machine, and as root, I was able to send the message, so my SMTP server would technically be the ossec-server IP? I feel like I'm nailing down what may be going on, I think it's either a maild issue or conf file issue. Yes, you should use "localhost" or the actual IP of the ossec-server. "localhost" is a real name.. it always points to the current machine, same as using "127.0.0.1" for the IP address. -- --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "ossec-list" group.
