I did a Google search and there was no hint in the Alaska papers of the time that the Palins knew the baby had Down's syndrome before it was born. I know there are tests that one can have but there is no evidence that they had the tests. AFAICT this whole thing about 'she knowingly carried a Down's syndrome baby to term' was just made up by the fundie christians.
