I sanitized as best I could the email addresses. This comes from a NRA trainers list I'm on.
1a.Post-Election Surge In Training requestsPosted by: XXXXXXHave any of you experienced a sudden increase in requests for training? My training team in SW Ohio has experienced a sudden increase in requests from the general public, primarily for our version of Basic Pistol Shooting which has a couple of hours of Ohio- specific material added to comply with Ohio's training requirements for a concealed handgun license. The increase started Wednesday Nov. 5.This seem to correlate highly with information on other e-mail groups I subscribe to, reporting a sudden increase in firearms and ammo sales. "Assault weapons" such as AR-15 and Bushmaster seem to be especially popular.XXXX XXXX, Ohio Back to top Reply to sender | Reply to group | Reply via web post Messages in this topic (6)1b.Re: Post-Election Surge In Training requestsPosted by: "XXX Wed Nov 12, 2008 6:58 am (PST)The number of inquiries I've been receiving over the past 2-3 weeks (starting several days before the election) has been more than double the previous level. I dropped by a gun store on the way out of town to pick up some *things* and it looked like a fire sale with AR-15's and their ilk going out the door at an astounding rate.
I asked the salesman what was up and he said that it has been this way for days. He figured that they would sell out of EBRs[1] by the next day and have to start a waiting list.
Part of the trigger (so to speak) , before the Obama camp went all limp was that the change.gov site had bringing back the Assault Weapons Ban, but with no sunset clause.
They airbrushed the site of any information a couple of days later, but there are caches..
http://change.gov/agenda/urbanpolicy/ is where it *was* at, but they yanked it
The important part of the text was."They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent, as such weapons belong on foreign battlefields and not on our streets."
The word "permanent" means a return to the PRE Ban and POST Ban guns like the olde days and makes every AR-15 you buy today double in value when he passes the Ban.
Since I was standing there, I picked up a Bushmaster M4 similar to this. (mine has cheek plates on the stock, an A3 rail mount carry handle and a competition 2 stage trigger)

I didn't really "need" it, but I've gotta do my part to help get the economy moving and besides, it's an investment.
I guess the next step is to order a few thousand rounds from good ol' ammoman.com
Heard on Wall Street: "This is the worst ever. I've lost half my net worth and I still have the same frickin wife!"
