The problem Obama has is that Sarah Palin was so amusing and such a
fun target for political cartoonists that they've suddenly become more
popular and read than before and now Barracuda is gone, everyone is
remembering how crappy most of them are.
And yes, I didn't think the cartoon was funny, either. Still, I didn't
think it particularly racist, just unfunny.
There are going to be racist jokes, and unfortunately some of them are
going to be funny. The problem then arises is are we that advanced in
ourselves that we can not find it offensive because we're above racism?
I'm once again reminded of a South Park episode that explains it
better than I can.
