This argument makes no sense. It wasn't just the Bush Administration that "authorized the use of torture, approved of secret electronic surveillance against American citizens, secretly detained American citizens without due process of law, denied the writ of habeas corpus to hundreds of accused enemy combatants and authorized the use of procedures that violate both international law and the United States Constitution" it was the "government". This includes the Democratic congressional majority that approved FISA and Military Commissions Act of 2006. The author of the commondreams post acts as if congress hasn't already granted immunity for this stuff. -- Seven Deadly Sins?
