Its been widely reported that initially a large part of Hamas' appeal  
came from the fact that they were the only group not mired in  
corruption and incompetence. Of course that has changed now. I suspect  
that practically everyone in Gaza hates Israel.

Which is precisely the argument that Hamas makes about the Israeli  
radicals. There is a radical faction in Israel that professes that God  
wants all of Biblical Israel to be inhabited exclusively  by Jews and  
denies that Palestinians have any right to exist as a people. And  
because they are the swing vote, the radicals in Israel have  
disproportionate influence. Israel is every bit as much a theocracy as  
Iran. Maybe neither one makes sense any more.

If Mexico and Canada had blockaded the US and attempted to starve us  
into submission and force us to impeach Bush and install Nancy Pelosi  
I think we would have been justified in firing 'missiles' at them even  
if our 'missiles' were little more than fireworks.
