We're in complete agreement. I specifically couched it as (anti-) 
nanny rather than conservative/liberal/right/left/Rep/Dem. I fall  
under the older Republican party of limited but effective government  
and minimal intrusion into my life with socialist sympathies (I agree  
with their points about the failures of capitalism but disagree with  
their proposed solutions) and I have absolutely nothing in common  
with social conservatives now running the party so I like to quote  
Reagan: I didn't leave the Republicans; they left me. I generally  
self-identify as a republican rather than Republican.
