We actually do. We mostly fight around the margins.

In my personal opinion, there is no way out of this except through
massive pain.

My problem is that I don't see how the stimulus package helps. It
literally fires up the printing presses and creates money out of thin
air
to give to the people that screwed it up in the first place. They
turn around and go to Vegas unless the reporters follow them around
24/7 and your average person, little less a low income person,
still can't get a loan for a house.

What the hell?

Mean time, all of congress and Obama say that if we don't just pass
this instead of going over it with a fine toothed comb first
"disaster" will happen. I;ve got news. Disaster is going to happen
with or without the package. It's just about timing.

I agree. The very idea of the stimulus lands on the Bush admin. It
was BS when it was only 800 billion.
another Trillion is just a larger pile of BS. It is not going to
work and anyone can see that.

The only difference is that when we finally admit it isn't working we
will be 1.8 trillion dollars further in debt and inflation will be
back at Carter admin levels.

All it will take for a true depression to happen is another energy
crisis.

The average man on the street knows that there is no free lunch.
Congress knows this too, but they figure that
my kids are buying, so what the hell, fire up the presses.

We are so screwed.

Someone asked my what I was going to do when I retire.

I said "Retire? I'm more likely to be an early casualty in the
coming revolution"

I'm starting to wonder if I was joking.

I'm such an optimist.

At least I know how to hunt for meat and have a farm large enough to
grow food for my extended family..
