I agree he's a better person than the other two.

But to me his effort was abysmal. Here's why:

He comes on the show and tells them that their show is "hurting  
America".

Then the guy with the bow tie (whom I don't like) simply asks him, so,  
do you ask politicians hard questions?

And Jon comes completely unstuck at this point. He tries to defend  
himself saying that, gee, he's just a comedian.

So, if he's just a comedian, why is he here lecturing these guys about  
their lack of responsibility?

The bow tie guy can then quip, "I think you're a good comedian, I  
think your lectures are boring."

Jon started out with a valid point, which is that polarizing politics  
has been damaging the country.

But as soon as he has to say something intelligent about how and why,  
they floor him.

For those of us who already dislike polarising fundie politics, we can  
implicitly agree with Jon. But he's only preaching to the choir. He  
said little if anything to convince anyone else, except he was funny  
so maybe that gets him some attention?
