If his defense is that his role changes to suit the channel and the show, ie. comedy on the Comedy Channel, and serious discourse on CNN, why did he perform on the CNN Crossfire show as a comedy act? In innocent child voice, "why... why do you... argue.. ?" The guy in the bow tie starts out with a straight serious question, and Jon wants to reply with a subtle answer about how the media polarises arguments and obliterates subtleties, but Jon obliterates his own point by trying to make funny reactions. He's as much a media whore as they are.
