FYI I've opened a bug after I've tried to migrate from 5.0 to 5.2
packages from ubuntugis:

Not sure that it is related

Hello,
First I wish an happy new year to OTB user and more for OTB dev
team which provide a good tools.
I am trying to use last version 5.2 in ubuntu 10.04 using
ubuntugis-unstable ppa.
Thanks for testing new packages.
However, after instalation whatever otbcli tools I have the
following error (here for otb_Convert):
/usr/bin/otbApplicationLauncherCommandLine: symbol lookup error:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libotbossimplugins-5.2.so.1: undefined
symbol:
_ZNK17ossimImageHandler18getEntryStringListERSt6vectorI11ossimStringSaIS1_EEa
To be honest, I have no idea why this error is triggered. But I can
say that I had it before 5.2.0 release.
With this commit[1], I don't get any errors!!. This is very strange,
because the commit is an empty one. without this change I always
have the same undefined symbol.
This could be a "heisenbug" or a total stupidity on my side or
something weird from recent ossim version.
To correct/try a fix to the problem, you must test with a older
ossim version. I don't know how to downgrade ossim version from ppa.
I will try to test this on a clean chroot and see if i can reproduce it.
BTW, are you using ubuntu 10.04 or 14.04 ?

I supposed that libotbossim deb packaged have a problem.
What sould be the oblem and the solution ?
Best and thanks for help
