Hi Erik,
in your error message it seems that you're still have OTB version 5.0.
If you installed it through package system it should have been removed
when you upgraded to otb 5.2.
Can you try to remove all existing OTB packages on your system:
apt-get remove libotb libotb-dev otb-bin monteverdi
Update your package list (check that you've activated ubuntugis-unstable
repository):
apt-get update
Then install OTB:
apt-get install otb-bin (otb-bin correspond to otb applications).
