An excellent resource for research we can use can be found on the AARP's
AgeLine Database. The database "provides summaries of books, articles, and
papers, written about issues related to growing older and helps identify just
which publications have the information we need."

In home care, a lot of my patients give a good deal of credibility to studies
reported on by AARP, especially those about modifications which may allow
them to remain in their own homes longer.

With reference to grip strength, the hospital I worked at several years ago
used a standardized percentile table grouped by gender and age, and provided
data for both hands. I'm not sure where this came from but I may have a copy
of it around somewhere. I'll be happy to look for it if you'd like.

Chris
