Hello All: The diversity of our great profession often brings a smile (and sometimes frustration) to my face.
Recently, I was talking with an OT practitioner about OT's role in Hospice. At first, the other therapist saw our primary role as related to physiological functioning of the UE, (stuff like splinting, positioning, etc). Later, we both agreed that OT's role can/should be much more and that we should focus intervention on maintaining quality of life and dignity by enabling occupation. Now, a question. If you have an opinion/experience about Hospice (if you don't, AOTA's position paper on hospice may be of interest), please tell me your concept(s) of OT's role. Thanks, Ron ******************** Unsubscribe?
