Hi Carmen, There was an interesting article by a Dr. William Miller, OT in Rehab Management Aug/Sept 2003 called Standing Strong. It discussed the disability associated with an individuals psychosocial reaction to fear of falling. He discussed utilizing occupational therapy to improve self efficacy with subsequent improved independence in occupational performance. One of the self reporting instruments he utilized is the Falls Efficacy Scale.
