Because your making it more complicated. It's like the marketing slogan from AOTA Skills for the Job of Living. It's a conversation starter, a sound bite. In advertising/ marketing you have to have something that gets people's attention. It should be short, to the point, a theme. Ya, Zoom, Zoom, Zoom, doesn't tell you about all the wonderful handling capabilities, the comfort and style of a car but, it gets your attention. Depending on my audience and time, I'll give more details, but, generally when explaining OT, you've got less than 30 seconds of not talking to fast, and being clear. Heck, my husband can define OT now to people who don't know about it, he has a simple, easily defined, easily remembered, easily repeated definition. Usually followed by a big grin and "She plays with kids." (teasingly if I'm in ear shot of course).
