Hello Pat:

Uf you don't get an answer here, you might try posting your message to
another group. Here's two suggestions:

1. "OT's in Private Practice" - This is a very small group. You can find
information on this group at
www.OTnow.com (look for the OTgroup link)

2. "PT Manager" group - this is a VERY active group with thousands of
members, mostly PT's. You can find info at:

http://www.ptmanager.com/ptmanagerlistserv.htm

Subj: [OTlist] working for MDs

p> Is there anyone on the list who is directly employed by an MD, or knows
p> anyone who is?
p> There is a doctor who wants to hire me to treat his patients, but someone
p> told him that
p> if he prescribed OT and then made a profit off the therapy it would be
p> considered a
p> kickback and would be unethical. Right now his patients are mainly
p> medicare, but he wants
p> to branch out to worker's comp, personal injury, and private
p> insurance. Does anyone know
p> what the ramifications of him hiring his own personal OT would be? What
p> about contracting
p> as an OT rather than being his employee?

p> Thanks!
p> Pat
